A few fun facts about North Carolina Mental Health Clinician, Beth Curran, PsyD

  • Favorite color: Orange
  • Things I enjoy: reading, writing, drawing, taking care of animals, and collecting indoor plants
  • Favorite food: pizza
  • Clients I work best with: People ready to explore their identity, people looking to understand themselves and others better, and people who are wondering how to move beyond heartache, trauma, and depression/anxiety to connect to their values and unlock their potential!
  • Something important I tell my college age clients: Identity is a process of becoming. Nobody is a ‘finished product,’ and nobody is done growing. We all must make a commitment to becoming who we are, and who we want to be. Young adulthood is a time to think about your origin story, how far you’ve come to be where you are today, and imagine the future you want for yourself. Therapy then becomes a process of learning what behaviors, attitudes, and values best serve to help you move toward being an empowered, proactive, and healed version of yourself.
  • Favorite quote: “Let me fall, if I must fall. The one I become will catch me.” – Baal Shem Tov
  • Favorite book: Women Who Run With the Wolves by Dr, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, or really anything by Neil Gaiman
  • Other fun fact: I love horror movies, fantasy books, and true crime podcasts
