Therapy in Durham, North Carolina
At our Durham office, we provide a range of therapy services tailored to meet your individual needs. Whether you’re seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, or in need of relationship support, our team is ready to support you.
Our clinicians are here to offer affirming, trauma-informed care that helps individuals, couples, and families address mental health concerns, relationship challenges, and personal goals. We specialize in:
- Individual Therapy: For anxiety, depression, trauma, and more. We also offer EMDR therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in Durham, North Carolina.
- Couples, Relationship, and Family Therapy: For relationship stress, communication issues, and improving family dynamics.
- LGBTQIA+ Celebratory Therapy: As a queer-owned practice, LGBTQIA+ celebratory therapy and clinical services are at the center of everything we do. We are proud to support queer, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients in anything they need – whether its anxiety, relationship stress, or a letter for gender-affirming care.
- Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy: Supporting Autistic clients, ADHDers, and anyone who is neurodivergent. There are many valid ways to experience and interact with the world, and neurodivergent ways of being are valued and celebrated at our practice. Our in-office sessions includes a variety of light and lamp settings, opportunity for pillows and weighted blankets, and lots and lots of fidgets! Want to sit on the ground? Cool! Rather stand, let’s do it!
Psychological and Psychoeducational Evaluations in Durham, North Carolina
We also offer comprehensive neuroaffirming psychological evaluations and psychoeducational evaluations at our office in Durham, North Carolina, for clients ages 6 and up! We offer:
Psychological Evaluations for Kids, Teens, and Adults in Durham, NC: If you know someone 6+ in need of psychological evaluation, we have three psychologists who are able to support, including psychologists in person in Durham, North Carolina! Our comprehensive neuroaffirming evaluations are perfect for clients who may have questions relating to ADHD, Autism, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, or personality-specific items. We also enjoy assisting clients who may have received a variety of diagnoses across providers and time, and are curious “what really fits” to best explain their experiences. Likewise, we love providing assessments to clients who may be exploring ADHD or an Autistic neurotype later in life, after years of high-masking. Our evaluations are comprehensive and include a robust recommendation section tailored to the client.
For adults, we can also complete these evaluations virtually. Adults located anywhere in North Carolina or Virginia can receive a psychological evaluation with one of our psychologists as early as next week!
Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluations for Kids, Teens, and Adults in Durham, NC: Psychoeducational evaluations help clarify how someone learns, processes information, and manages attention or executive functioning. These assessments look at both areas of strength and places where additional support may be needed, offering a clear picture of a person’s academic and cognitive profile.
Our team provides evaluations that can support requests for accommodations in high school, college, graduate programs, standardized testing (such as the GRE, LSAT, or MCAT), and in the workplace under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For children and teens, results may also inform or support 504 plans and IEPs. We also offer Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE) for students in Wake County, Durham County, Orange County, and other surrounding counties in North Carolina.
A typical evaluation may include a clinical interview, review of background information, interviews with caregivers or teachers (when appropriate), and standardized testing. Tools often assess overall intellectual functioning and academic achievement while also screening for specific learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia. We can also evaluate for ADHD and related attention-based concerns.
The outcome of a psychoeducational evaluation goes beyond test scores. It can clarify diagnoses, guide educational or treatment planning, and provide the documentation schools and employers require when formal accommodations are needed.
Forensic and Court Ordered Evaluations in Durham North Carolina: We also offer court-ordered and court-involved evaluations, substance use evaluations, mental health evaluations in legal contexts (such as custody disputes or probation ordered), capacity to proceed, mental state at the time of the offense, and more.
Whether you are seeking a psychodiagnostic evaluation, a psychoeducational evaluation for your child, an ADHD or Autism evaluation, or a court-ordered or forensic evaluation, our Durham-based psychologists offer personalized, high-quality evaluations and help to get your questions answered!
