Fun Facts About Amanda:
Favorite Color: Lavender! (It is also my favorite plant and my only tattoo)
Things I Enjoy: Creating art, going for walks/runs, spending time with my pets, trying new recipes, watching movies, and shark teeth hunting.
Favorite Food: I am a huge foodie, so this question is always difficult for me. If I had to pick one, though, I would say sushi.
Clients I Work Best With: As an AuDHD therapist, I enjoy supporting fellow neurodivergent folks, especially late-diagnosed individuals exploring that “what now?” feeling. I also specialize in LGBTQIA+ celebratory care, perinatal mental health, and those navigating fertility challenges or PCOS. Generally, anyone who comes to therapy with heavy feelings of being historically dismissed or misunderstood. Your experiences will NOT be minimized in our time together.
Something I Often Say to Clients: Many of my clients come to me with negative, internalized beliefs that have been deeply ingrained in them by others in their life. We will usually explore the question “Is this YOUR voice or XYZ’s voice?” It’s a simple question, but it can be surprisingly challenging to pick the two apart.
Additionally, in the beginning stages of therapy, I almost always hear “Sorry if this is TMI!” to which I will always respond “Nothing is too TMI for therapy!” All parts of you are welcome here!
Favorite Quote: “They say nothing lasts forever but they’re just scared it will last longer than they can love it.” ― Ocean Vuong, On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous
Favorite Book: Another difficult question! I would have to say On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong. I love cathartic and poetic books.
Random Fun Fact: I am a huge animal lover! I grew up raising chickens and the occasional duck. I now have two cats, Leo and Noodle, and a dog, Fancy! One of my dreams is to have my own farm one day.
