Welcome!
Hi! I am Dr. Weintrob, and I can’t wait to meet you!
People come in for psychological evaluations for all sorts of different reasons, but regardless of the specifics, I believe that everyone I evaluate wants to be better understood above all else. I trust that the depth and breadth of experience, my casual and collaborative approach, curious nature, and neuroaffirming stance all contribute to this goal of nuanced understanding.
A Little More About My Approach
With every client I evaluate, I seek to understand their specific needs and then tailor my approach and test battery to those needs. I have intimate knowledge of the various systems my clients interact with, whether they be schools and courts, or their families and communities, so I am always sure to seek the quantifiable data to help client navigate these systems after the evaluation process is complete. My initial intake session is critical as I make sure to fully understand the stated reason for evaluation but also seek broad-based knowledge about my client and their surrounding systems to make sure that I have the full picture.
During the evaluation process, my clients would describe me as approachable, informal but precise, and hopefully fun! After the evaluation data is collected, I always prioritize having a collaborative interpretive session with the appropriate parties, allowing for me to better understand the evaluation data in the context of my clients’ lived experience and for them to better internalize the findings in a way that they feel accurately seen. My evaluation reports are always comprehensive and prioritize accounting for the impact of psychological and emotional factors, including life history and contextual circumstances. Each of my reports includes treatment recommendations, specific suggestions for accommodations, practical recommendations the client can implement themselves and with their families, and suggestions for the involvement of other professionals that may benefit them. In sum, I always know I’ve achieved my goals as an evaluator if, after reading my reports, a client can say, “yes, that’s me!”
I am open for virtual evaluations of all kinds with child, adolescent, and adult clients in across all 43 PSYPACT states, as well as in-person evaluation of client in North Carolina.

Get to know Dr. Weintrob:
Originally a Michigander, I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area before bouncing around to several American metropolises on both coasts and a brief stint in southern Africa before settling in Durham with my two elementary-aged kids in 2017. This area has truly become my home, as I love the sense of community and small-town feel combined with cultural and gastronomic options of a much bigger city! When I’m not spending time with my kids and our friends, I love going to concerts, trail running, working out at the gym, playing and watching sports, and slowly but surely learning to play the guitar. I love traveling to the nearby coast and mountains as well as to more exotic locales across the continent and abroad!
