About Group Therapy

Are you having a difficult time handling the struggles in your life?

Do you wish you had more of a sense of community in your life, instead of feeling alone?

Could you use a non-judgmental ear to listen, somebody who really “gets” what you’re going through? Maybe even someone who has been struggling with the same kind of problems?

Do you really need to talk to somebody, but you don’t know who would be willing to listen?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then online group therapy in North Carolina might be an option for you!

Online Group Therapy in North Carolina versus Individual Therapy

Online Group Therapy in NC differs from individual therapy by holding therapeutic sessions in an online group setting run by a therapist in North Carolina, instead of in a one-on-one setting with a therapist. In these group sessions, you might share your thoughts and experiences with the whole group. This allows the group to support one another, and for you to gain a diversity of perspectives from people who understand what you’re going through.

If you’ve been feeling hopeless or alone lately, or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, online group therapy could help you improve your everyday life.

Group therapy helps you find a sense of community with others who are going through similar things as you while giving you access to valuable therapy that can truly help you feel better.

So if any of these sound like you…

  • Worrying about the same problem over and over
  • Wishing you could trust someone with your secret struggle
  • Wanting to stop feeling so alone in what you’re going through
  • Interested in therapy, but want to try something lower pressure than individual therapy
  • Wishing you felt more understood by others
  • Looking for expert help improving your life
  • You don’t have the time to commit to ongoing individual therapy
  • Wanting a diversity of perspectives from people who “just get it.”

Then online group therapy could be right for you.

Benefits of Online Group Therapy in North Carolina

Group therapy offers unique benefits that can enhance your work in individual therapy or help to continue your growth after graduating from individual therapy. However, group therapy can also be a rewarding first experience in psychotherapy, especially for those who are not sure they are ready to commit to longer-term individual therapy.

Some benefits of group therapy include:

  • Discussing issues that are difficult to talk about with friends, family, partners, or colleagues
  • Feeling less alone in your struggles
  • Learning lessons from the experiences of others
  • Practicing relating to others in real time, and improving your relationships with others
  • Gain personal feedback from therapists, as well as genuine feedback from other members of the group
  • Establishing a routine of connecting with others
  • Feeling fulfilled through helping others
  • Experiencing hope in witnessing others overcome similar struggles
  • Developing knowledge and insight about our own particular challenges
  • Trying out new ways of being with, and relating to, others in a safer and professional space
  • Research shows group therapy is as effective as and, in some cases more effective than, traditional one-on-one therapy.
  • More cost-effective than individual therapy. Group therapy may be time-limited (6-8 sessions) and is typically a fraction of individual therapy costs.

Group therapy’s effectiveness lies in its ability to help you find connections with other people and their experiences. These therapist-guided sessions will help you learn more about yourself and how to improve the way you feel while feeling support from others who understand your experience.

If you’re looking for help in improving your everyday life – or for a more community-oriented therapy experience – you would be a great fit for our group therapy services.
