From Briana:

I wholeheartedly believe that we are all worthy, capable, and deserving of a fulfilling, loving, and “joy-full” life. Regardless of our past mistakes or experiences, I believe that we all have inherent worth, unique capabilities, and worthwhile goals and aspirations. Life can often throw challenges our way that make us question our value, but through therapy, we can work together to navigate past challenges and build a life that reflects your personal values and goals.

Maybe you find yourself feeling “stuck in the past” but also wanting to change things for your future… Maybe you’re exhausted from feeling like you can’t be yourself and you’re yearning for a more authentic life. Maybe you’re tired of being tired and you’re dreaming of better days full of energy and hope. Regardless of what wellness looks like for you, healing and growing is a journey… but you don’t have to go at it alone! I am passionate about helping you along the way- whether you’re just starting to think about change or you’ve been contemplating it for a while.

As the great Dr. Thema says, “It’s time to come back home to yourself.” Through the ups and downs that may come on this journey, I will be right beside you providing a safe, inclusive, and affirming space. You can breathe easy knowing you will be heard, seen, and respected for your whole self.

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, resiliency-focused, neuro-affirming, and social-justice oriented. I know we all come from unique backgrounds, histories, and influences. That’s why I tailor each session to YOUR unique needs, history, and preferences. I also consider the various systemic and oppressive societal conditions that can negatively impact your mental health and well-being. In sessions, I use a combination of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Whether you’re returning to therapy or trying it for the first time, welcome! I am so glad you are here and I would be honored to help you “come back home to yourself.”

A little more about who I love to work with:

My sessions are trauma-informed, resiliency-focused, neuro-affirming, and social-justice oriented. I provide affirming and strengths-based individual and group therapy to individuals and families. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, but especially women and young adults. I also have found that I work well in supporting the “high-achievers”’, or perhaps those who are seen as “the strong ones” in their family, work, or peer groups. I also enjoy offering neuro-affirming support to individuals in individual and group therapy sessions – ask me more about the strengths-based and self-compassion focused Mindful Awareness for ADHD and Anxiety group I facilitate each quarter!

My big three therapeutic focus areas include:

  • Self-Compassion: Do you find yourself giving grace, patience, understanding, and forgiveness to everyone around you but yourself? Do you find yourself struggling to accept your mistakes or being harsh with yourself? Self-compassion may help! I am passionate about helping you provide the same love, care, and compassion that you give to others to yourself. It may feel unfamiliar and maybe even a little awkward at first, but you are so worthy and deserving of that same kindness and care.
  • Identity Exploration: The question “Who am I?” can bring up a lot of feelings and a lot of questions. In a safe and supportive space, I can help guide you to answer that question with clarity, pride, and joy. Whether you are exploring your sexuality, a new role you’ve found yourself in, or trying to find balance with your values and your family’s values, we can work together to help you build a life that is uniquely yours.
  • Anxiety: Anxiety comes with a lot of unknowns and questions. It can also impact our sense of self, our relationships, or our work. In our sessions, we can work together to understand your anxiety and build upon your strengths so you can approach situations with calmness and confidence. It’s a journey of self-discovery and empowerment but you don’t have to go at it alone!
